A Mexican Congressmanr climbed border wall to prove a point to Trump
A Mexican congressman tweeted photos of himself at the top of a 30-foot portion of the Mexico-U.S. border wall this Wednesday to prove a point to President Trump.
"I was able to scale it, climb it, and sit myself right here," Braulio Guerra, a congressman from Quer taro, said in a video. "It would be simple for me to jump into the United States, which shows that it is unnecessary and totally absurd to build a wall."
Escalé el Muro con EEUU. Mira @realDonaldTrump lo absurdo e innecesario el gasto en este proyecto que agravia y daña nuestra buena vecindad.
Trump last month signed an executive order calling for construction of the wall, a signature promise of his presidential campaign, which would be financed using "existing funds and resources."
The president insisted throughout the campaign that Mexico would pay for the wall, though he later claimed that Mexico instead would reimburse the United States in the future.
The Department of Homeland Security has only found $20 million in existing funds to put toward construction of a wall on the United States' border with Mexico, according to a document obtained by Reuters.
